Our Mission & History
South Cove Manor was founded in 1985 by a group of community activists who dreamed of establishing a nursing center that would offer high-quality care to address the unmet needs of a growing Asian elderly population that heretofore had faced significant language and cultural barriers in traditional care facilities. They envisioned a home where their parents, relatives, and friends could receive the best care possible in an environment that respected their backgrounds and traditions.
In 2014 we moved from our original building on Shawmut Avenue in Boston to a new state-of-the-art campus in Quincy, intentionally designed to support new models of care and to accommodate significantly expanded rehabilitation services.
While our roots are firmly planted in the Asian community, we welcome and serve all with multicultural staff, activities, and menus.
South Cove Manor’s commitment to exceptionally high-quality care and innovation has resulted in an unprecedented track record of stellar regulatory ratings. We are proud to have received the highest (Five-Star) quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, and regularly receive deficiency-free survey ratings from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. This places us among the top nursing facilities in the state and the nation.
